Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
I'm setting out to walk the 58K from Corfe Castle to Weymouth as part of the Jurassic Coast Challenge. Our small team is aiming is to raise as much money as we can to support Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity very close to our heart.
When Jo's son, Ethan, was diagnosed with a germ cell tumour, it was an overwhelming situation to be in. The team from Young Lives vs Cancer were there every step of the way to support them and make sense of what was happening, guiding them through all the uncertainty.
Most significantly for them, they were able to stay at Paul's House, one of the charity's "homes from home" whilst Ethan had surgery at Great Ormond Street to remove the tumour. This was a lifeline for them during the most difficult of times, somewhere to sleep, make a proper meal and just be in a safe space as a break from the hospital environment.
Furthermore, children with cancer from Ukraine have arrived in the UK for treatment. This charity will be there for all these children and their families and offer their support and services.
Please show your support and give as generously as you can to this amazing charity. Children, teenagers and young people continued to be diagnosed with cancer throughout the pandemic, but fundraising opportunites like this one have not been able to go ahead. The work of the Young Lives vs Cancer team has been more important than ever as young people have been through the toughest of times.
