I made it!!!
After all my medical problems over the last 2 months or so and lack of training i crossed that finished line after 5hrs and 26 mins. I was aiming for around 3hrs 30mins before all my problems, so when i set out my aim was to just finish. It was an amazing experience and anyone who has done it before will know what a massive difference the incredible crowd make. If not for the crowd and family and friends i wouldn't have made past mile 5. By mile 13 all of my body was hurting from the viral infection which made everything achey and stiff alot more than it should have.
Also knowing how generous people had been in sponsoring me kept me focus and spurred me on so a big thankyou!!!!
3 days after the marathon im still having problems with walking let alone running, but it was worth it for the experience and knowing i've raised lots of money for disabled children in sport (Get Kids Going).
