I am taking part in the Great North Run 2021 with my sister to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.  We have chosen to do this together as this is something that is personal to our family.  I am challenging myself for this worthy cause and to support others who have this diagnosis. Together we can make this awful disease history.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the UK with one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes. One in seven women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.  Around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.

On 1st April 2019 Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now merged to create the UK's largest breast cancer charity for everyone affected by breast cancer. The charity is steered by world class research and powered by life changing care.  The Charity works tirelessly to support the research needed to find a cure, fund treatment, and support families.
