Story
After reading my old school friend, Sian, posts during Childhood Cancer Awareness month about everything her family has been through and is going through. I wanted an opportunity to show my support, do something out of my comfort zone but that I’ve always wanted to do and raise awareness of Childhood Cancer. Many of you know I’ve always said I wanted to do the London Marathon and that I would only do it for myself or a cause I felt close to.
So for the first year, after 6 rejections, I applied for a Charity place with CLIC Sargent. And only bloody got a place!! I am looking forward some what nervously at the opportunity to support and represent this amazing charity and hopefully raise money for CLIC Sargent.
I first started running properly in January 2018, where I joined my local running club’s beginners course, Redway Runners. From here I booked my first Half Marathon for my Birthday, September 2nd... I hated it... so obviously now I hope to complete a full marathon, slightly stupid yes, but if people can show so much strength in these situations we get put in, then running in London and pushing my limits to their extreme, will be just something small in comparison and the least I can try to do!!
