Story
8th March
It is with great sadness that I let you know that Huw left this world on Tuesday 7th March. He died peacefully, at home with Sophie, Millie, Sam and Zac by his side and the sun streaming through the window. He was able to be in the comfort of his home, due to the incredible care and support of the Severn Hospice. They have been invaluable to Huw, Sophie and the family since his diagnosis and we are so very grateful for their care and dignified professionalism.
I am joining a team of Huw’s friends on Sunday 16th April in an effort to raise money for the Severn Hospice who helped care for my dear brother Huw, 'King of the Lions' Peach. Huw was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in early January 2023, and the Hospice team cared for Huw and supported and his beautiful family; Sophie, Millie, Sam and Zac.
While the Shropshire contingent of Huw’s friends will be cycling on 16th April, I am going to stick to what I know best - and will be running 56 miles in the week leading up to the 16th - culminating in a Half Marathon on the Sunday. This will mean running an average of seven miles a day in the week before the 16th, some of which I will try and do around Oxford in places significant to Huw’s life.
Each of the 56 miles will represent a year of Huw’s amazing life. 🦁 🍑
