Story
My name is Scott Brown and I am continuing this fundraising page. Please read on……..
So, about a year ago my friend Jacky was diagnosed with cancer. Quite a scary type. Jacky was having to undergo chemotherapy for six months. Daunting to say the least. But, Jacky took on the cancer like a warrior. Jacky set about training for fight.
To bolster the ranks Jacky asked for volunteers to train and stand alongside her. Jacky gave out personal challenges to her army to take on, coinciding with her chemo sessions. Jacky’s challenge to me was to run a half marathon. I had run a 10k once before but had sworn never again. So of course; challenge accepted in a heartbeat.
With her friends and family as her armour and the chemo as her arsenal Jacky went about kicking cancers arse.
I would really appreciate your support so that we can raise as much money as we can for The Fountain Centre, part of St Luke’s in Guildford, who are supporting Jacky throughout her illness.
Today Jacky is doing really well, the chemo appears to be doing what it should have done and put the cancer in a box and wrapped it in cling film. She is running herself, keeping fit and busy and really enjoying life. Regular scans are keeping an eye to see if the cancer has escaped and more treatment is needed.
