Story
Hello Friends, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
5 years ago this year my dad sadly passed away from Cancer, during his illness I set out on a 10k fundraising journey to support the hospital ward that was doing some of his initial treatment and support, at the end of that run I knew I would at some point want to reward and support those that would eventually care and support him during the more difficult times, it was the staff at St Elizabeth Hospice that provided that care for him and support until the end and I wanted to be able to say thanks at one of the best running races in the world, the London Marathon. I applied through the ballot purely to mark a milestone of loss and a milestone of memories and I was lucky to receive a "your in" magazine in October. Since then I have been out in all weathers, been injured by hoovers and picked up running injuries on the way, but despite the dark and occasional cold night I have always laced up, grabbed the Harribo and hit the road.
I am not a natural runner, Im 6ft 4, drink beer, rarely sleep and don't eat enough vegetables but I have achieved some huge personal milestones since October and adjusted myself and lifestyle to give 100% to this training and achieving this goal and I will continue to improve, commit and do my best to avoid injury if you could kindly find a spare bit of loose change or buttons to support the Hospice and me in this cause.
I'm running for memories, Im running for amazing staff, I'm running for friends, I'm running for family and I will run for you!
