Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2017 my wife gave birth to a very poorly little girl called Talia. After many surgeries, months in hospitals, many scary moments we got to take her home 2 days after her first birthday. A day we will never forget. Relieved to be a family again we started our new journey.
Although excited to leave hospital with it we left the security of having nurses at hand, support of doctors and the community of other knowing parents behind. Our house became a medical place, filled with constant care for our angel. This is where Alexander Devine stepped in and made such an unforgettable impact on our lives.
They describe the service they provide as offering ….a range of care and support services for children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families. To us it’s so much more. Their regular visits enable us to do things without the restrictions medical equipment and care bring. They enable my wife to clean, food shop or exercise safe in the knowledge Talia is not only medically cared for but utterly happy. Their days in the hospice provide Talia with a familiar and fun environment she can spend important time independent of us. The fun days, the care packages, the COVID fun packs, the calls, the sibling activities all go so far when your everyday life is restricted because of medical needs.
So as a small way of giving back, I’m dusting off my rugby boots, tapping up my fragile bones and heading to the rugby fields of Cheltenham. There alongside old team mates, ex international rugby legends, friends and family a team of ‘old boys’ -‘Talias uncles ‘ and a more youthful touch team ‘Team Talia’ we will go to battle to bring back the win for this amazing charity.
Anything you can donate will go so far and make such a difference to families like mine
