Story
So I've bitten the bullet and entered the London Marathon (words I never thought I'd say!). I am using it as an opportunity to raise money for RNIB, which supported my late mum for a number of years whilst she was losing her sight due to a brain tumour, so it is a cause close to my heart. Hundreds of people lose their sight every year, and RNIB are there to provide emotional and practical support to such people so they can face their future with confidence.
After getting into running last summer, I’ve somehow become a person that runs. Since then I've ran several 10Ks, done lots of parkruns, embarked on cross country and trail running, and completed 2 half marathons. However I don't think anything will prepare me for how hard completing a marathon is going to me. I'm looking at running 5 times a week throughout the coldest, darkest months of the year, limiting my cheese and beer intake (!), and generally being tired and grumpy :)
If you would like to help me through this difficult time by sponsoring me and donate to the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB), it would be greatly appreciated.
You can find out more about their work and where donations go on their website: http://www.rnib.org.uk/
I know there are lots of calls for sponsorship so I’m especially grateful for any support you can provide. I will happily take spare change to add to the overall pot – every little helps!
