Story
The Portering Service at Royal Free Hospital are taking part in the Superheroes 5km run in May 2017 to raise money for complementary therapy services
Message therapy is provided to patients across numerous sites to help reduce stress and anxiety before, during and after treatment. It is the 'Treat' not the treatment which helps cope with their condition and is shown to reduce blood pressure and improve wellbeing which all aids recovery and coping abilities. This is particularly evident when treating patients in ICU where the monitors clearly show the effect.
Sometimes it is not patient who needs the message therapy but also their carers and so they include parents of babies in Neo-natal unit, partners of cancer patients and staff.
This service relies totally on your support. £25 pays for a massage. Give the gift of a smile today
