Story
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm undertaking this walk for The Royal National Mission To Deep Sea Fishermen, first and foremost, to pay respect to anyone who has ever gone to sea, as well as those who've lost their lives to the ocean surrounding us. Whether this was to earn a living, protect our shores from attack, or to rescue those unfortunate to fall prey to this unforgiving environment. More specifically though, because I've grown up and live in Brixham (one of the largest fishing ports in the UK), I am doing this walk to raise money for all the people whose personal sacrifices and commitment to their work (as well as that of their families), past and present, enable people around the globe to enjoy eating the fish that live in our costal waters. Finally, with particular regard to all from Brixham who are no longer with us - friends, acquaintances, and strangers alike, I walk in memory of your time in our community; however short or long that was, may you always be remembered.
All donations gratefully received, however small, they are all appreciated. Please also take some time to look at all the good work the RNMDSF do here in the UK.
Cheers
Roy.
