Finished my fifth half marathon this year, with a new personal best and improving on last year's time by 9 minutes! It was a great run, and I decided to raise money for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Appeal. This appeal is working with the cancer charity Get A-Head and the University of Birmingham to give patients access to non-invasive, non-toxic drug treatments, which will limit the amount of time patients have to spend in hospital. The research team for the QE Cancer appeal are looking to test the effects of drugs on live cancer cells using a state-of-the-art robot by systematically screening thousands of existing drugs for their anti-cancer properties, and undertaking clinical trials.
