Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 22 June 2019 I will be taking part in the Rob Roy Challenge comprising a 14 mile hill run followed by 56 mile road cycle starting in Kenmore near Aberfeldy.
I'm doing this challenge this year to help myself and to help others. As somebody with mental health issues, competing in this event allows me to stay focussed and stressed in a positive way. It gets me up off my backside and out into the countryside. It also gives me the chance to do something for others, which can be difficult when my health often restricts my view of the world to just 'me'
The charities which will benefit from this event all have to deal with mental health and well being to some extent or another.
Your donations are not only going to the excellent Martin Currie Charitable Foundation (which through their Community Investment Fund support requests for funding in the areas of social welfare, health, children's welfare and children's health. They give mostly to national and local charities) but in the case of the Rob Roy the money raised mostly goes to the chosen charity partners for the year which are Marie Curie, the NSPCC, Cyrenians, HorsebackUK, Maggies and Scotlands Charity Air Ambulance
Please help me along the way and help me do something for others as well.
