As some of you might know, in 2019 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s not a journey that I ever imagined myself being on. I received excellent treatment at the  time and with drug therapy and regular monitoring will hopefully continue to feel fit and healthy for years to come!

Breast cancer now as a charity was and continues to be a source of information and comfort to me and to many, many others affected by this disease. Sometimes you just need facts and sometimes you need someone who understands exactly what you are going through and breast cancer now can provide all this. There are professionals you can talk to as well as a forum for chatting to others who have been through similar experiences as you. There’s no judgement and no worry is dismissed as trivial.

As you know, running has been part of my life for many years. It certainly helped me in my recovery and provides a space for me to think. However, I don’t normally tackle this sort of distance, so this will certainly be a challenge.

Running with Alex and Lottey will make this a memorable and special occasion as they have both been amazing throughout. Paul will be our designated driver and has also been a fantastic support to me.
