Story

It would be unfair to define Dyslexia in one word or phrase as this disability includes a number of things and affects so many people in so many different ways.  It is generally characterised by a difficulty with learning to read fluently, from which a number of other problems stem.

On the whole people know very little about dyslexia despite the fact that 10% of the British population are dyslexic demonstrating how widespread it is.  This is why raising awareness is key!

Members of my family as well as great friends of mine suffer from dyslexia which is why I've chosen to run for this charity.  I've been able to see the subtle ways in which dyslexia can create small difficulties for these people, so close to my heart, in general day-to-day life.  Please help me to raise as much money and awareness as possible to guarantee those suffering with dyslexia a fair chance in all spectrums of society.

By sponsoring me for this event you will be supporting a great cause.  The BDA work towards significant change within society for the benefit of dyslexic people, as well as offering support and advise for them.  They aim to guide and encourage schools to become dyslexia friendly and enable those with dyslexia to achieve their complete potential in the workplace and in society in general.

I really appreciate all your support!

Rose xx
