There is a shocking truth that where there are vulnerable people so also are there traffickers. With well-financed networks, and the opportunity to profiteer from the chaos and desperation within the Ukranian refugee camps, traffickers can offer a ticket to safety and already, there are those who have been coerced and deceived into accepting this "help". Azalea is the first response provider for statutory services in cases of sex trafficking in Herts, Beds and Bucks. The charity have most recently been involved in the case of a young Ukranian girl coming through Luton airport, with clear evidence that she was being trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation. This is unlikely to be an isolated incident and Azalea are preparing themselves for the challenging times ahead.I have been a proud Trustee of Azalea for 7 years and as I conclude my tenure I want to raise money so that Azalea can be there for the survivors of international sex trafficking. I will be taking part in their 100 Miles In May challenge where I will walk, swim and cycle the mileage over the month.
