Story
It's very likely that if you are on this page you knew my darling older brother Will. You probably also know of the huge battle he had with alcohol and, I believe, his mental health. These two combined in a toxic way to cause his untimely death at 52. He leaves behind him our parents, his wife, three brave and amazing children, two brothers and more great friends than anyone else I have ever known. Nothing of course , can bring him back but I thought, in Will's memory, that I would at least try and raise money for a charity which would allow his memory to live on in a positive practical way.
I want to support a charity which deals with alcoholism in the round and in particular raises awareness of the link between mental health and alcohol abuse. Alcohol Change is not a rich charity but the work they have done in addressing the links between mental health and alcohol, their peer support program for families and the most vulnerable, as well as their research and the policy changes they have helped to implement have greatly impressed me. They punch well above their weight and every £1 given to them will make a huge difference. They even started the whole 'Dry January' movement.
Will was a great giver in life and I know that he would be delighted if the money raised in his memory helped just one person recover from the appalling difficulties he sadly was unable to defeat.
Thank you so much for your huge generosity.
