Story

Hi to All of you who have made the time and effort to visit our just giving fundraising page!!

You may be our Family, Friends, Colleagues, Supporters of our cause or maybe you've found us by accident! However you are here Thank you very much for being here and please, please take the time to read on!

On the 19th of July 2010 we are Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africas Highest point and The Worlds Tallest Free Standing Mountain in aid of Nightingale House Hospice - Wrexham.

Roger : On April 6th 1984 The Strongest most respectable man i ever knew Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, free of modern kit and the help of porters....he was my  Dad, Mr Martin Middleton

. Dad was always so very modeset about this great achievement, we are all very proud of what he achieved and it is ingrained in our families life through the photo of Dad at Uhuru Peak -  and the Mount kilimanjaro Summit certificate which Hangs Proudly (for those who are worthy enough to see it!!) on the wall in our loo!!!

Dad Worked as Project Manager For Nightingale House Hospice a job He relished working for a Cause he loved and believed in.

Dad  a fit, strong, healthy Wonderful family man whom was loved, admired and respected by all who knew him was diagnosed with cancer in August 2007.

He was cared for by the Staff at Nightingale House Hospice who gave him - and our family the best care and support that could possibly be wished for.....

Dad the strongest man I’ve ever known died on January 9th 2008 at the age of 54.

Dad always wanted to return to - a place he loved. He had wonderful memories of the years he lived there and his wish was always to return one day, He will also be joining us on our expedition to the Summit of Africas Highest Point as we are taking his ashes to rest on the mountain he also conquered!

Migs I had the pleasure of working with Martin for approximately 2 and a half years at Nightingale House Hospice, from the time I began my role as fundraiser in 2005.  He was truly one of a kind, a great leader, a funny, and genuine man.  He was loved by, and respected by everybody who knew him at the Hospice.  I still use his methods now in the way I work events today.

It is an honour to be part of this trip and to be raising money that will help other patients and their families who need the care and support of the Hospice.

At some stage we have all used the care provided by the Hospice, and it is a vital part of the local community.  Please remember that this trip is completely self funded and so, every penny raised, will go direct to the Hospice itself Please dig deep for this wonderful cause.  Any donation you can give will be most appreciated.

Thank you to all of you who have taken the time to be here,

Rog and Migs xxx
