Story
Good news! This challenge was successfully completed on Sunday 17th September. The weather conditions were difficult for much of the journey but Roger cruised successfully into John O'Groats on the afternoon of the 17th. Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement!
In September 2017 I am celebrating my third of a century (34 years) of being vegan by cycling 969 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats for my chosen charity, Viva! I will be cycling an average of just over 107 miles a day for nine days - all on 100% plant power! :)
I am aiming to reach a target of £4,000 - plus Gift Aid where possible - in sponsorship to support Viva! in its work in raising awareness about how we can improve our health, our lives and our world by showing compassion to our fellow animals and the environment, as well as to ourselves.
Going vegan, vegetarian or reducing meat and dairy consumption is a hugely positive step to take in life and, through its campaigning and educational work, Viva! helps and advises those who want to alleviate animal suffering, improve their health, assist the world's poor and tread more lightly on the Earth.
This is a major cycling challenge for me, so I am very grateful for your encouragement and support. Thank you in advance for your donations to Viva! and for demonstrating kindness and respect to the animals, birds and fish with whom we share this beautiful planet.
