Once upon a time there was a team of cricketers arising from the Ram pub in Widcombe who were trying to make a difference in the world of well-warn and pot-holed wickets. Every time they took to the pitch they gifted a feeling of warmth, success and general all-round greatness to the opposition. After many years of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory we found a couple of ringers and haven't looked back since (including a win against The Star) !

Having bested our demons we went in search of new challenges - playing against the wild oarsmen of the Isles of Scilly and the lunatic taxi drivers of Dublin - but nay this was not enough for the hardy Ramsters. We had to go and sign up for a crazy three day cycle ride across the hilliest route into deepest, darkest Wales (without any clear plan as to how to get back).

So take pity on us and open your wallets so that our lives (or at least a long weekend and probably also a few days of recovery time) are not forfeited in vain !
