Story
Two UK Crane Industry Veterans - Myself, and Malcom Davies are taking part in Round Britain Coastal Drive for the Prostate Cancer Charity. It is being organised by Philip Porter who founded the Jaguar XK Club in 1997. Philip himself has received treatment for the disease.
My nephew Kevin Megson died from it two months ago. He was operations Director of T.E.I. Wakefield and hired cranes at power stations and refineries across the country. In the ten years he fought the cancer he raised £100,000 for the charity and as Yorkshire Ambassador For Prostate Cancer he welcomed Philip and the other drivers when they visited Bridlington on the 1st tour last year. Last years tour was completed by 200 E Type Jaguars some of whom joined for daily stages and the total raised was £60,000. the 18 day trip starts next Monday from Beaulieu and we are being waved off by Murray Walker. See www.xkclub.com for details
If you have a crane depot near the coast you could see myself and Malcom rattling our tins and kindly donate or you can donate via this page. Thank you.
