Story

Hello,

At the turn of the year, I thought a charity run with my eldest daughter Mary (12) in aid of two great charities: Elizabeth's Legacy of Hope (ELoH) provides life-changing support for children who have lost their limbs through war, accidents, and lack of access to medical care and The Soldier's Charity who give a lifetime of support to soldiers and former soldiers from the British Army, and their immediate families, when they are in need.

That New Year optimism has faded and the fact that I boldly opted for the 15km course (as an incentive to train) and Mary the 5km now only makes the task even more daunting - I appreciate that others doing the marathon the following day will wonder what I'm moaning about but preparation has been limited.

Anyway, we'll both give it a shot and in the hope that you might have some sympathy for us dragging our sorry "rears" around the course and more importantly make a contribution to two great charities as part of the same deal.
