I am once again subjecting myself to a 10k run, and asking for some donations. Believe it or not, the running has only just started to get a bit easier after all this time!

I am fundraising for Mind. You only have to vaguely know me to understand how important it is to me. I have had quite a few years of tumultuous mental health, with multiple rounds of counselling. In the last year whilst I was on placement in Leeds, I asked for help again, starting medication and going back to counselling provided by our wonderful NHS. 

This race is almost to celebrate being on Citalopram for a year as of November and just taking stock of how far I've come. I would not be here or who I am today without the support of our strained NHS mental health services. I also would not be here without the love and support of friends and family who only want to see me do well.

The stigma of mental health really feels like it's only just starting to change. I very often find myself falling down the rabbit hole of horrible Facebook comments on articles about those suffering. Mind alongside other mental health charities are working to erase this stigma and create a society where we all feel supported. 

I know how hard it is to open up about how you feel, I feel so much pride for those who do, and I am understanding of those who feel they can't. The work done by Mind and the NHS is invaluable, and they really need the support to help others. I really hope you will support this cause and spread the word, we are facing the biggest mental health crisis of our time.
