Story
I've been raising funds for the H.E.L.P (Helicopter Emergency Landing Pad) Appeal for several years after hearing the story about how Lesley, who now works as a full-time fundraiser for the charity, lost her 10 year old son in a road traffic accident. Lesley talks about how the air ambulance had to land on the road near Birmingham Children's Hospital as there wasn't a helipad at the time. Onlookers watched as she spent her last moments with Tom. She has now devoted her life to raising funds to get helipads built at more hospitals and trauma centres.
To support Lesley and the H.E.L.P Appeal, this September I will be taking part in the South Coast Ultra, a 100k walk throughout the day and night across the south of the country.
Starting at 8am in Eastbourne, I'll walk over the famous white cliffs at Seven Sisters, along the South Downs Way, through Brighton, Devil’s Dyke, and a few ups & downs before coming to the finish line at Arundel 100k later and at around 4am the following morning.
I'm hoping to raise £1000 to help fund part of the H.E.L.P Appeal's next helipad project.
