Velindre, the Hospital of Hope has been providing specialist treatment and supportive care to cancer patients and families for over 65 years. Money raised for Velindre Charity helps fund ground breaking research and clinical trials, cutting edge treatments, specialist nurses, support services, therapies, equipment and so much more which are above those provided by the NHS – so donations really do have a significant impact on patients and their families. Your donation will allow Velindre to continue to provide Hope for the future.

As part of my fundraising activity I will be undertaking two cycling challenges: -

1) Riding up the Alpe d'Huez on Wednesday 13th June (one day before the Tour De France Stage 12 that finishes at the summit of the mountain. The climb is 13.2km long, 1,815 metres elevation at an average gradient of 8.1%

2) In September I will be riding with 90 other cyclists in Arizona, Utah and Nevada, taking in the Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon and Zion National Park. The challenge covers 330 miles and involves over 5,000 feet of climbing everyday!

However the effort will be worth while given the impact of raising the funds for Velindre will be significant, in terms of treatment, care and research undertaken at the Centre.
