Story

As some of you may know my mum passed away in January after a brave fight against bowel cancer. In the last weeks of her life she stayed at St Margaret's Hospice in Taunton and the nurses there were fabulous. There are many such hospices around the country, funded mainly by charitable donations, and mum decided she wanted to do something to help, insisting that the collection from her funeral be donated to St Margaret's.

I want to continue to help, therefore in my mum's memory I will be taking part in the Prudential Ride-London 100 mile road race for "Help the Hospices" in August. Although I have taken part in many endurance running events, I sat on a road-racing bike for the first time in January and will be taking part in my first sportive in April as part of my training, so this will be a significant challenge for me (particularly as I am still having comedy incidents clipping in and out of the pedals!)

Thanks very much in advance for any donations you can spare.
