I'm a 15 year old living in Northern Ireland and at the time of writing this it has been 18 months since my Mother, Ash died of stage 4 bowel cancer.

My Mom Ashling Reynolds, (Ash) was a Community Artist who believed in building bridges between the groups she worked with in the difficult Northern Irish environment. She was a great believer in people, love and the power of positivity. As we all know, much has happened since her death. Lockdowns and Covid 19 restrictions have put all of us under stress. In this time period my hair has been growing like many others due to these restrictions.

At this stage I feel ready to turn over a new page in my life and bereavement journey. I am symbolizing this by getting rid of my lockdown look. In honor of what my Mother believed in I wanted to create a positive situation out of my own loss and so I have started this fundraiser in the hope of helping those who have also found themselves in my shoes.

Cancer Fund for Children has helped me and my peers to great extent throughout my bereavement in the form of their “#IWill” and “Narnia” programs. They also helped my Mom during her battle with cancer by providing our family with weekends in their daisy lodge facility. I know that Ash was very thankful for the help this charity provided and I would like to show this thanks by trying to raise £1,000 for them and the other families who are going through what mine have.

Any help on reaching this goal would be appreciated beyond words and I hope that if you are also one who mourns Ash or a loved one, you yourself can see the positivity of what their life achieved and understand that you are never alone in these trying times.
