Story
Regrettably, Robin was unable to take part in his planned skydive after being grounded at the very last minute by his GP (for a minor condition – so nothing serious). Whilst this is the first time Robin has been stopped from doing anything, so that LandAid does not suffer, Robin has personally reimbursed everyone who has sponsored him.
On Thursday 27 October 2011 I will be jumping from 13,500 feet and freefalling at 120mph in a tandem skydive to raise money for LandAid Day.
I don't remember seeing 'must be prepared to jump out of planes' in the Chairman's job description and perhaps unsurprisingly none of the other LandAid trustees have volunteered to join me!
However, I strongly believe as an industry we should all play our part to 'give something back'. The future is still looking bleak for many disadvantaged young people with youth unemployment at the highest level since records began. Through fun events like LandAid Day, the property industry can come together and help LandAid to raise £125,000 that we will invest in projects that help young people to achieve their potential.
I am extremely grateful for any support you can give me. If you would prefer to send a cheque instead of using JustGiving please make it payable to 'LandAid Charitable Trust' and send it to LandAid, St Albans House, 57-59 Haymarket, London, SW1Y 4QX.
