Story
Unfortunately my Dad, Nigel Bunting sadly passed away last August after a battle with Cancer.
I've wanted to do something in my Dad's memory and he loved being out on the golf course so this was the perfect choice. We will be undertaking the challenge at Reading Golf Club, which is where Dad was a member for over 10 years.
On Wednesday 21st June 2017 (The Longest Day!) We will tee off just before 5:30am and complete 72 holes (4 rounds of golf) covering more than 25 miles and climbing more hills than I can bear to think about! Trying to get them all played before it gets dark again!
On a personal note, I can't speak highly enough about the support that I received from Macmillan during Dad's illness. As somebody who's knowledge of medical terminology is pretty slim they gave me a much better understanding of what was going on, showing care and compassion without telling me everything was going to be ok, knowing it wasn't. The support I received was invaluable during such a horrible period of time.
Thank you for donating, I'll be providing updates of how we are getting on throughout the day!
Rob
