Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I want to tell you about my friend Eric Rivers. Eric is the bravest man I know. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease 4 years ago, and since then has been fighting this devastating condition with a searing courage and honesty that almost defies description. You might have seen him on the TV programme DIY SOS in 2012, when Nick Knowles and the team rebuilt his family house to make it suitable for someone suffering from MND. A keen sportsman who loves life and his family with a passion, Eric has been slowly robbed of the ability to walk and talk, eat and speak, even to hug his wife and children. He is now in a wheelchair and communicates through a specially adapted computer.  You can read his incredible blog at  http://learnlovelive.co.uk  and see the advert he made with Nick Knowles for the MND Association. Please do.

MND is a horrible disease - a slow but inexorable killer that devastates everyone it touches. The MND Association raises money to fund research into the disease, to campaign for those suffering from it, and to provide care and support for them and their families. Without its help, many of those affected by MND simply couldn't cope. For the sake of Eric and his wonderful family - and all those whose lives have been blighted by this disease - please help me raise money for this fantastic organisation. You can read more about it at  http://www.mndassociation.org

I've set myself the task of running a half-marathon. It's going to be hard - it's more than twice as far as I've ever run before. But the knowledge that I'm running it for Eric and MNDA will make it a whole lot easier. So come on - help me out here!
