Dear Friends
Last autumn, my wife lost both her parents to cancer within a very short space of time. Their sudden passing has left a hole in our lives that we are still trying to cope with.
I have joined an epic charity ride whose sole purpose is to raise both money and awareness to cancer. The ride itself is long and hard, 750 km and 100 000 feet of climbing. That is the equivalent of cycling up Snowden Mountain in Wales 5 times a day for 7 days. The routes that we will cycle are not published. We will not know what the next day will bring other than pain. This is done so as to remind us of what cancer sufferers go through daily.
The ride is limited to 50 riders. We all have already paid our own way to enter - £2000 each. All money raised through this page goes directly to Bloodwise Charity. I will be joining the Fireflies Cycling Club - London, on this their 16th Alps Charity Ride.
I started training for this ride in December last year and kept it up throughout the cold dark winter months. I thought it best that I first do the hard work to get into shape before approaching friends and family for sponsorship..
To John and Heather Lee-Graham, this is for you. XX
