Story
'Anti-Bullying' is a cause that's very important to me.
Like many people, bullying was something I experienced as a young person at school. Like many people, it had a profound effect on me at the time.
So I decided to talk to young people about it.
I started giving talks in Schools. I had two books published. wrote and staged twelve plays and produced two films on this issue. In the past ten years I've spoken to young people all over the UK, in hundreds of Schools & Colleges and everyday I'm reminded that bullying remains an issue that causes people great concern and unhappiness.
There is however a positive side - namely that a huge amount of work has been and is being done to prevent bullying and safeguard children.
One of the very best organisations involved in this work is 'Kidscape' and I'm running the 2013 London Marathon to raise money for them.
Kidscape is a charity committed to keeping children safe from abuse. One of the many fantastic things they do is work directly with bullied children to help them rebuild their confidence and lives.
All donations will go directly towards Kidscape's helpline that currently helps over 100 families a week and their excellent ZAP Assertiveness sessions that teach children techniques to prevent bullying.
I've personally attended a ZAP session and seen firsthand the positive changes they inspire in young people and I can assure you that any donation you make will make a real difference to the lives of bullied children.
I would hugely appreciate your support!
Best wishes,
