Story
Look through the beautiful pictures of my friends daughter Ivy Gage above and then please take a moment to read below -
I would love you to sponsor me for the abseil down Guys Hospital Tower on Sunday 13th November 2011.
This tower is tallest all-hospital building in the world. Tallest structure completed in London in the 1970s and is the 17th tallest building the UK. (143metres / 469ft & 34 stories high).
I am raising money for the charity who supports my friends daughter IVY - The Lily Foundation whom raises funding for research into Mitochondrial Disease –awareness, easier diagnosis and maybe one day a cure!
Mitochondrial disease is a cruel/life-limiting/incurable condition, which Ivy and many other children in the UK suffer with. Mitochondrial disease is difficulty to diagnose.Ivy had to go under the knife for a muscle biopsy just to test for a suspected condition. Many undiagnosed conditions, even cot deaths, maybe attributed to Mitochondrial Disease.
A beautiful little girl called Lily sadly died in 2007 when she was just eight months. Lily’s family have inspired us - with their energy and drive. We need to raise money for equipment and research into Mitochondrial conditions! Here is the link to The Lily Foundation http://www.thelilyfoundation.org.uk/
Ivy story features on their web site to inspire others families, here is the link http://www.thelilyfoundation.org.uk/our-inspirations/ivy-gage/
Please help me - to help The Lily Foundation and their vital work!
Thanks for your support - it's a great cause!
Love
Robert.
