We raise awareness of AIDS through cricket to strengthen communities and fight disease

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February/March of 2015 me and a group of university friends will be travelling to Africa to work alongside Cricket Without Boundaries. We will be leading coaching sessions within local schools and look to promote a HIV/AIDS health awareness to youngsters!

As part of the trip I'm looking to raise a minimum of £750 to support the charity but hopefully looking to raise more than this target!

CWB has three main goals:

  • To spread cricket through coaching children and teaching adults how to coach; and
  • To link the sport to HIV/AIDS awareness and incorporate these messages into coaching sessions.
  • To bring together and empower local communities through cricket.

About the charity

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.
