Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Etape Cymru is billed as "... an 'epic' lung-busting, leg-aching, end of season closed road sportive, which provides the most challenging closed-road test in the UK."
I'm riding in support of The Willow Foundation. Willow is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable Special Days. These Special Days enable them and their families to reconnect and refocus on each other while enjoying an activity of their choosing. Please check out Willow's information video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TKIfBBHg-g
The ride is only 85 miles, but it's a very hilly 85 miles with around 2,500m of climbing. If that's not enough, they also have a minimum average speed limit! I thought I could do with a challenge and was stupid enough to let a bloke in a bike shop convince me that Nottingham's 100 mile sportive wasn't tough enough to count as a challenge. So North Wales here I come.
Willow provided a big boost to our family by sending us to Peppa Pig World earlier this year after Tracey completed her treatment for breast cancer. It would be great if I could raise enough to re-pay what they spent on us, I don't expect to raise that much, but the more I can raise the better.
