Great Eastern Run · 16 October 2022 ·

Tommy's funds medical research into the causes of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage. We’re dedicated to finding causes and treatments to save babies’ lives as well as providing trusted pregnancy and baby loss information and support.

Story

In December 2021, Miranda and I were given the devastating news that at 16 and a half weeks, our baby's heart had stopped. We had also had a similar experience in December 2020.
I will be running the Great Eastern Run, which happens to be taking place during Baby Loss Awareness Week, to raise money for Tommy's, the baby loss charity.

During Miranda's treatment, we both found Tommy's to be a great help when needing information and guidance, both during our pregnancy and miscarriage. We have found their resources to be informative and comforting during some very difficult times.

Miscarriages happens to more people than they should and there simply is not enough research into them. They are incredibly common but remains to be a hugely underfunded area. We both feel very passionate about the ongoing research Tommy's carries out in the hope of preventing miscarriages, stillbirths and premature births in the future. Additionally, I want to spread the message to anyone who has gone through it, is going through it, or might in the future, that Tommy's is a huge support, and they provide help and hope for us all.
