On Monday August 20, 22 intrepid riders with Rugby League in their blood will set out from Old Trafford, Manchester, bound for Wembley Stadium and the biggest date in the sport's calendar - the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final.
Avoiding roads whenever and wherever possible, the riders will cycle 300 tough miles through the heart of England over the next five days.
The ride is scheduled to end at the Wembley Legends statue on the stadium concourse on the afternoon of Friday August 24 - 24 hours before the Challenge Cup final kicks off.
The group features some household names from the world of Rugby League, including many retired internationals who are doing their bit to help a charity that helps so many of their contemporaries, including my other half, Keith, who will be driving one of the support vans with our 17 month old daughter, Jess.
I’ve decided to join the ride after seeing all the effort and ‘fun’ that was put into last years journey. It will be a great challenge and exceptionally rewarding.
Sponsors, fans and RL Cares members of staff are also riding the great adventure in its second year and doing what they can to exceed the £20,000 total raised for the charity in 2017.
