My experience with CANCER!
In the winter of 2017 and after Christmas I became more conscious of me being hot at night. Sleeping on top of my bed more than in it and sweating. Unknown to me it was one of the symptoms of
Mantle cell Lymphoma, a rare cancer only affecting 500 people per year. Through the year I became weaker and more tired lacking in energy I went to the Doctors and given an MRI that led to a PET scan
(Position emission tomography) this high lighted cancer in my bone marrow to 90% saturation.
Now diagnosed and confirmed in August I started Chemotherapy, Retuximab October 20th.
My treatment ranged between day patient infusion and hospital admissions.
October 20 2017. The brown infusion bag is the chemo covered as it’s light sensitive.

From October 2017 to April 2018 I received the chemo. I lost my hair in 4 months but it grew back. I then had another PET scan which revealed I was totally clear and now in remission “ This is the best news anyone can hear” and we were overjoyed.
In May 2018 I started “Stem cell replacement therapy” which is another story but part of continuous treatment to maintain my health and prolong my life. The chemo they used for this is called Malfolan and so powerful I lost my hair in 3 days!
I am now 6 months post transplant feeling better everyday but will have some setbacks with infections as I have no immunity.
However “When I wake up in the morning It’s a GOOD day”
So there is hope and life after cancer.
Thanks to the expertise of the wonderful medical profession, the NHS and the ongoing scientific discoveries in Cancer research and of course the generous British public who year in year out provide the vital funds to speed on yet more discoveries and making what was the Big C into a little c.
I am one of a population of 65000000 and they spotted my rare cancer and successfully treated it absolutely Brilliant.

So please support my Son in law Ricky Poznanski and his friend Ian Brown in running the London marathon to raise as much money as possible to enable cancer research to “crush” the BIG C.
