Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In the first week of July 2014, from the source of the Thames in the West of England, our adventure begins. Unsupported, we will board our 2 man canadian canoe and paddle over 100 miles down the Thames carrying only what is essential for the 4-5 days on the water to London.
When we say unsupported we literally mean that we are loading the canoe with a tent, a couple of changes of clothing and enough food to last us the journey as sleeping in fields rather than hotels is all part of the challenge.
The whole team is made up of 3 other 2 man crews however seeing the fine physical specimens of men they are it is unlikely we will see much of them for the entire journey !!
We are planning a BBQ and a tad of a celebration on the afternoon of Sunday 6th July and so please ask for details if you would like to come along. After only each others company, other than a few swans, for over 100 hours it would be great to see you.
This is a massive physical and mental challenge and whilst the sense of achievement will be great we also want to take the opportunity to raise some funds for a great cause.
Over the years I, and many friends and family, have lost loved ones to cancer but there has always been a group of dedicated, kind, caring and strong people who have been there to help through those difficult times so we couldnt think of a better cause than MacMillan.
I hope you will support us to help this very worthwhile charity in anyway that you can.... even the smallest amounts will make a difference to them and also show us that you are with us on our journey.
Thanks in advance
