Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

By Richard Hardie

You may be wondering why I have picked the Chest, Heart & Stroke charity.  This is very dear to my heart as my Gran was in Intensive Care in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after suffering a leaking aortic aneurysm in July 2007.  She was put on a Life Support Machine and Mum and I visited her every day to see how she was progressing.  It was a very emotional time for Mum and I and thanks to God she made it through.

This is hard to believe, but my Gran was only home 6 days when Mum suffered a cerebral haemorrhage (an aneurysm in the brain).  Our friends could not believe that this happened twice in the one family.

It has left Gran disabled and she walks with the aid of two sticks and Mum walks with one stick and has short-term memory loss and has had to give up her work because of this.

I, for one, believe that more money needs to be put into this Charity so that other people's lives can be saved.

I have given myself 15 hours to do 100km on the indoor rower. I will be doing this at Mayfield Leisure centre on Sunday 7th November 2010 from 8am.   This will be a very hard challenge and would be great if you could all dig deep and sponsor however small and pass on my link to others.

Thanks very much indeed for your donations in advance.
