Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. This year I will be taking on the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon - on Sunday 14th May - to support Motor Neurone Disease research at the University of Sheffield. Any donations are appreciated to help reach my fundraising goal!MND is a terminal condition. It affects the brain and nerves and is nearly always fatal. In the UK alone, 1 in every 300 people in the UK will develop MND in their lifetime. But there's hope. The University of Sheffield has world leading MND researchers working tirelessly to find a cure for this debilitating disease.By making a gift today you will make a much needed breakthrough in MND come even sooner. And you'll improve the lives of MND patients long into the future.
I lead a team of researchers at the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience working on developing new motor neuron disease treatments. How Rob Burrow, his family and friends have responded is a real inspiration and I hope to give something back.
I like running but have always resisted doing a marathon as I run off road and spend a lot of time walking up hills and reading maps (badly). So 42km of non-stop running is a bit daunting but I'm looking forward to the challenge. Many thanks for supporting me!
