Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 11th of September 2014 our daughter, Scarlett, died suddenly and unexpectedly from bleeding and swelling in her brain. This was caused by a large tumour that we were completely unaware of. Scarlett received amazing care from the London Ambulance Service, the Paediatric Accident and Emergency staff at West Middlesex University Hospital and, finally, at the Great Ormond Street Hospital. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts they were unable to save her.
Scarlett was a wonderful little girl and a joy to behold. Vibrant, kind, fun, generous and she had a beautiful soul. Aged four she was a social butterfly, a loving big sister to Arthur, had just learnt to swim in the summer and she was very excited about starting at her Mummy's school. She was adored by all her family and friends and she lives on in our hearts and memories.
The nature of Scarlett' death meant that she could help others by donating her organs and we are proud that she has changed the lives of two adults, three children, and their families.
Scarlett's generosity in her life and death is such an inspiration that I am compelled to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital in her memory. So, my first fundraising challenge will be to run the London Marathon in 2015. It's my first attempt and if you are able to help me raise some money or cheer me on it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Richard.
