Story
As a youngster, a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. We were a group of five best mates, that soon went down to four as he battled the cancerous tumour, enduring bout after bout of chemotherapy. Luckily, this was temporary, and he has since recovered back to full health. I'm running the marathon to fundraise for the kids going through the same thing today, the thousands of kids that have endured the same, and for my mate Bert.
The photo above is of the four of us with shaved heads in solidarity for our mate who at the time was losing his hair.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any donation would be massively appreciated.
At Children with Cancer UK, we actively raise and invest money for vital specialist research to save the lives of every child with cancer and keep their family together. Through our investment in research, we are taking forward our understanding of childhood cancer, to give new insights into ways of treating young patients with even the most difficult forms of cancer. We are working to drive up the survival rate still further by developing more effective curative therapies with fewer toxic side effects.
