We fund vital research into sepsis, to unlock answers & improve treatments.

Story

Richard and I both had  COVID-19 , our symptoms and outcomes were both ends of the spectrum,  with  Richard losing his long fought battle from a virus that relentlessly ravaged him.  I wish to leave a legacy in Richards name to help fund research.

Richard was recruited for the GENOMICC trial. Susceptibility to COVID-19 is almost certainly, in part, genetic. GenOMICC can find the genes that cause susceptibility, which may help to prioritise treatments to respond to the global crisis.

Our genes (or DNA) determine how vulnerable we are to sepsis and other forms of critical illness. They aim to discover specific genes that control the processes that lead to life-threatening illness. If they understand these processes, they think they will  be able to design effective treatments. .
