Story
I have had the privilege of visiting The Laura Centre and meeting the staff. The centre is a special place that offers a much needed service for those children, parents and families whose lives have been shattered by their loss.
The Laura Centre helps people to deal with family bereavement and continue with their own life after the death of someone close. If you have lost a family member, naturally, you'll understand the time it takes to heal and at the Laura Centre, this help is provided
The service is available immediately or many years after the death of a loved one. They make no charge to those that use the service. Last year the centre saw just under 600 parents and children. To be able to continue offering this service charitable donations are essential. My challenge is the Nokia Scotland Coast to Coast event being held in the summer. The event is set over two days (start Saturday morning and finish Sunday teatime!!!!) and traverses one of the most famous mountain landscapes in the world by bike, foot and boat; a journey that covers just over 109 miles, including a marathon-worth on foot (running); a journey that takes in some of the most iconic locations in the Scottish Highlands: Loch Ness, the Great Glen, Ben Nevis and Glen Coe and of course plenty of rugged terrain. I appreciate you get lots of requests for this sort of thing, but please sponsor me as even a small amount is very gratefully received. Thank you for your support and wish me luck Richard
P.S. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
