Richard's Skydive for Ataxia UK

Richard Brown's skydive for Ataxia UK · 14 June 2014
*update* Conditions on 14/6 meant I couldn't jump, despite waiting into the afternoon. I am returning 15/7 to try again.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ok, so you're wondering why a retired, disabled, father with another on the way would possibly want to do something like this?
Sure, I need a challenge, I need to show the world that disabled people can accomplish anything. But most of all, less than one in ten people have even heard of Ataxia - I need your support to change this.
Ataxia UK is a great charity, one which I am closely involved in. It has been helping people with ataxia (like me) for nearly 50 years. Their vision is to find a cure by 2020, I am hoping to raise over £1000 towards this - please give generously and tell your friends!
Safety is very important to me. I have consulted closely with my GP, Neurologist and the British Parachute School, and while I understand it will be a physical challenge for me, they are all satisfied that I will be able to participate safely. This is a one-off event, that I can work towards over the coming months (lose weight, build up strength and fitness).
Thanks,
Rich
