Story
Our darling dog / daughter was taken from us yesterday, she escaped her harness and we couldnt run fast enough to catch her she was hit by a car as she ran home. The Owner didn't stop. She was tiny - the vets said she died instantly.
Bhav adopted her only 2 months ago when he proposed to me and she was going to be a huge part of our future plans, we were even house hunting so we could move out of our flat when we get married so they could have a big garden to run around in. We didn’t know much of her past life but from speaking to the vet, it had not been the best. We made sure her life with us was the best it could be. After a couple of weeks her personality did really come out as well has her quirky little traits. She also found her voice, it was like a little husky woof- she was always so full of energy and happiness bouncing around everywhere without a care in the world, she loved attention and she was soo mischievous.
We absolutely spoilt her - I knew Bhav gave her tonnes of belly rubs before bed. She spoilt us too she would run down whenever she heard the doorbell to greet us and give us loads of kisses! We did our best to train her and nurse her health issues including removing 8 of her teeth so she could eat without wobbly teeth or being in pain.
I have a chihuahua already and I would always say to Bhav we should get him a play mate so he can be in love as much as we are. Safe to say they were getting there they would rub noses whenever we said ‘kissy’ and she would follow my other chihuahua ‘visu’ around everywhere. They were both going to be ring bearers at our wedding and we were going to have them walk down the aisle with the wedding rings.
I was adamant I wanted to adopt and I didn’t want a brand new dog as so many chihuahuas get abandoned when people realise that they are difficult to maintain.
Mine and Bhav's family are absolutely devastated and heart broken but the one thing getting us through is to know that she had the best 2 months she's ever had after we adopted her. We had so much love to give.
We helped a dog in need which wasn’t wanted anymore. This is the reason we're setting up this fundraiser in honour of Rhaeya.
We hope to raise money in order to help those dogs desperately waiting for happiness in these animal shelters.
Please please help us honour Rhaeya and help our baby girl help others like her. Please donate and share.
Ps if you are the driver, Rhaeya would have wanted us to forgive you and not hold any anger. We don’t expect you to come forward but please donate for her.
