Story
Come July it will be 2 years since we lost our lovely dad who we miss each and every day..... so in memory of him my mum, Caroline, Dave & I have decided to raise some funds for Alzheimers Research, a cause we feel very passionately about!
Our dad was very much loved and respected by everyone who knew him and he fully embraced life but he was sadly robbed of everything he held dear by Alzheimers disease. This is such a cruel and debilitating disease slowly robbing you of your ability to deal with everyday tasks and eventually your memories, forgetting who the people around you are!
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, funding research into the causes of dementia, diagnosis, preventions and treatments. They currently fund more than £22m of dementia research across the UK, including nearly £2m of pioneering science in Scotland. This funding means that scientists can investigate not just the causes of diseases like Alzheimer’s, but develop ways to diagnose them earlier. The charity is dependant on donations for its pioneering research so to help them in their mission to find a cure we, along with our lovely friends (Annette, Kate, Jane, Jackie, Angela & Dir, Debbie & Mike) have decided to walk 26K from Nethy Bridge up through the Revoan pass to Glenmore and into Aviemore. This is the area that our dad was born and grew up in so think it is fitting to be doing this one in his memory!
