Story
Louize died suddenly on 17 July, just a week after she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She was 55 and had made Hove her home for more than 14 years. We have chosen BHT Sussex as the charity we would like to support in her memory by seeking donations in lieu of funeral flowers. This brilliant organisation, based here in Brighton and Hove and operating across Sussex, provides a wide range of essential services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and people who have complex needs. These include support for rough sleepers, homes, support services, and legal advice and representation.
Louize had long been a supporter of charities working in the area of homelessness, being very aware of how fortunate she had herself been always to have a place to call home, and of how many people in our city face the huge challenges caused by homelessness, poverty and marginalisation.
We shall be grateful for any donation however small you are able to make to support the vital work of BHT Sussex in Louize's memory, and by doing so to help shine some light into the darkness which her sudden loss has brought to so many people whose lives Louize touched.
