Story
This page has been setup in memory of Glen Gardener.
If you're not sure if you've met Glen then you've probably not met him!
Here are some of the ways that he will be remembered by me:
- great friend
- average colleague !
- first black polar bear (his own nickname for himself on the ski slopes)
- guy crashing into the snow bank (everyone else's nickname for him on the ski slopes)
- guy who would bike out to get me a KFC for lunch (because I fancied a zinger burger and telling him made him want one too and there wasn't a KFC in Canary Wharf)
- guy who lapped danced for my husband on our wedding day
- guy who literally let his hair down on holiday (Munich, Amsterdam, Mayerhofen for those who were there)
- guy who bought Tickle-Me Elmo's for his nieces and nephews (then a couple more for himself!)
- guy who always had time to make me laugh (usually with an inappropriate youtube link)
- guy who I did WAR seat testing with every year - it was a tradition for us to go to lunch in KFC and discuss life.

Richard Clarke's memories of Glen include
- You literally let your hair down on team excursions, making it easy to spot where everyone was, by using you like a beacon (i.e. in the Munich beer garden), I still think you looked like Sideshow Bob
- how you were such a great help to me on my diet...by eating glorious smelling fried food every day after I had eaten sawdust for breakfast and by tempting me with chips (placed in my desk draw for my discovery the next day :-))
- Hearing you chuckle behind your computer screens to comments being made across the desk
- introducing me to great deals, like the cheap IPAD....actually I wont miss those :-)
You did not let your illness get in the way of your life; at work many classed you as a friend as well as a colleague. Your passing has made a bigger impact that you would have imagined.
God speed Glen.

That was just a random selection. Tell me yours and I'll update this story.
Glen really did live life to the full and the kidney thing was treated as a minor inconvenience. Incredible really.
I hope Heaven's stocked up on JD...
We'll miss you GG (don't forget, we agreed to meet up at Heaven Nandos - I assume you're there already).
